Corproate america talks a great talk about hiring free spririts who bring passion and new ideas totheir organizations=
they pay consultants billions every year to put on seminars to make their managers more like people like Jim - literally - billions are spent on making cookie cuttter corporate conformsits try to think outside the box.
When they actually get to hire someone like that to actually bring those qualities into an organization, they run from them like they have leprosy.
I have never understood that dsconnect. But, then, corporate america wants controllable cookie cutter employees who take few risks, bring somewhat preductable rewards - the real stars work for themselves. |

| Hey Justa, you hit the nail on the head. If Corporate America could actually think "outside the box" they wouldn't hire consultants as the solution to their problems. Hiring consultants and running seminars is "inside the box " thinking. It is useful for letting management types "feel good about themselves" in that they are doing something "proactive" (A word dull-witted people use) whilst not actually doing anything constructive at all. |
